Everyday we read and hear about misery, poverty and injustice in this world. Usually we all react to this with a feeling of impotence and helplessness.

What change can a single person bring? Does it make sense to donate – isn't that just a drop in the ocean? Does my donation ever even reach those who are in need? What more could I do?

Many people resign, facing the challenges of directly and effectively fighting the misery in developing countries. With Little Big World e. V.'s work, we intent to have a crack at exactly this task: We want to help directly, on site and sustainably – to ultimately reach better living conditions for those in need.

We are of the opinion that actions and a change of thinking do have to take place in our affluent society. Only this way problems like climate change, poverty and famines can be tackled, whilst facing the world's constantly increasing population.

In context of the Millennium Development Goals (2000) the United Nations named the fight against poverty, the respect for human rights, equality as well as ecological sustainability and peace as the highest goals of our international community. (Source: http://www.un.org/millenniumgoals/)

All the same, we see our motivation in supporting those in need, through personal effort and commitment – step by step to a more equal, international community.
